Saanich Head Start Advisory Committee

Because our project is collaborative, Saanich Head Start Project formed a committee known as the Saanich Head Start Advisory Committee to meet at least once a month with at least one staff member and one parent representative from each partner site.

The Saanich Collaborative Head Start Project is a combination of early childhood programs based on the Aboriginal Head Start Components, which run on the Tsartlip, Tseycum and Pauquachin First Nation reserves.

These nations are located close to each other on the beautiful West Coast of Vancouver Island, on the Saanich Peninsula.

Although the three Nations are in close proximity they are notably diverse in their culture, language and traditions; the differences in their programs reflect those diversities.
