Head Start Partner Programs
Prenatal Support
A prenatal program designed to assist pregnant mothers and fathers with health services to promote a balanced, healthy term pregnancy.
Expecting parents are encouraged to attend regular visits with the Health Center Nurse to receive support information and training on what to expect during pregnancy and after baby arrives.
The Prenatal Support programs encompasses four of the six Aboriginal Head Start Components for Health Promotion, Nutrition, Social Support and Parental and Family Involvement.
Infant Group
Infant Group is a natural starting place for new parents coming into the many Head Start programs. This group fosters a deep understanding of the physical and emotional needs of a newborn child.
Activities incorporate all six of the Aboriginal Head Start Components creating enjoyable opportunities for learning and experiencing the precious years of a newborn child's life with their family.
Play Group
Each of the Head Start partnered sites operate their own unique Play Group designed to meet the specific needs of each community.
The Play Group format allows for easy delivery of the values set forth in the Aboriginal Head Start Components. This unique opportunity creates an enriched environment that encourages each Aboriginal child and their parents to engage in enjoyable opportunities for learning.
